Indian manufacturers and exporters can prepare by clarifying their product and market scope, mapping data and evidence ownership, and building repeatable customer-data workflows. Exact legal responsibilities remain product- and role-specific.
From a customer request to a reviewed product record
A customer requests material information for style IN-100, revision B. The purchasing team holds a supplier declaration for revision A. The example is fictional; it does not establish a legal disclosure requirement.
Keep the buyer’s style reference and the factory product reference together in the product record. Ask the supplier which revision its declaration covers. The export team coordinates the response; the assigned reviewer decides whether the evidence supports revision B.
DPPLogic supports this preparation workflow: record product facts and evidence references, track gaps and follow-ups, review the information and export a versioned dataset. Source documents stay in your own systems. A READY label is an internal review status, not certification.
| Step | What the team records | What still requires a person |
|---|---|---|
| Define the request | Product reference, revision and the information the customer requested | Agree scope and identify the applicable product rules |
| Collect support | Value, unit, original source wording and evidence reference | Obtain the source and check that it covers the right product |
| Resolve the mismatch | An open gap, owner, follow-up and review decision | Accept or reject the evidence with a reason |
| Hand over and maintain | Reviewed product dataset exported as JSON or CSV; retained version history | Review again when the product or supporting evidence changes |
Start with product and market scope
Segment the exported portfolio by product category, EU customer or importer relationship and applicable legal instruments. Preserve the primary sources and assumptions used in every applicability decision.
Priority readiness controls
- A controlled product and supplier master
- Structured attribute definitions and unit conventions
- Evidence linked to the correct product, version, facility and market
- Traceability decisions documented at family, model, batch or item level
- Controlled exports or APIs rather than repeated manual transcription
- Named owners for validation, approval, publication and monitoring
Operationalise European customer requests
Use controlled request templates, accepted formats, due dates, validation rules and escalation. Track unknown or missing data as measurable gaps rather than filling them with unsupported assumptions.
Choose who owns the workspace and the review
The manufacturer may run its own workspace, or its customer may coordinate the preparation and request supplier answers. Agree who pays, who supplies information and who reviews it. Receiving a supplier response link does not make the supplier a paying workspace customer.
Free includes up to five products, one seat, evidence references, human review and JSON/CSV exports. Professional and Business add catalogue import, secure supplier response links, optional independent review by a second team member, bulk work and audit export; Business provides the same tools at higher limits.
Textiles/apparel and iron/steel requirement packs support preparation; the battery pack remains at research stage. DPPLogic does not publish passports or QR codes, automatically email suppliers, or certify compliance.
